Ten Compelling Reasons

Studio-Based Learning

The studio is the heart of design education. Students at BGS AADA spend the majority of their academic time in working studios, designing, building, sketching, rendering and presenting — not sitting passively in lecture halls.

Theory & Lectures

Core theoretical knowledge in design history, colour, materials, business and sustainability is delivered in well-equipped, air-conditioned classrooms with digital presentation infrastructure.

Project-Based Learning

Every semester includes live design projects — from client briefs to themed collection challenges — that simulate real professional scenarios and build portfolio-worthy work.

Industry Guest Sessions

Working designers, stylists, architects, interior design firm principals and fashion business leaders are regularly invited to share insights, critique student work and connect students with industry realities.

Site Visits & Industry Exposure

For IDD students: visits to construction sites, completed interiors, materials showrooms, furniture manufacturers and established design firms in Bengaluru. For FAD students: visits to textile mills, export houses, retail showrooms and fashion weeks.

Internship

Both programmes include an industry internship component in the final year, giving students hands-on, paid or credited professional experience in their field before graduation.

Portfolio Development

Throughout the programme, students build and refine their creative portfolio — a critical tool for employment and postgraduate applications. BGS AADA provides structured portfolio development workshops and mentoring.

Critique and Peer Review

Regular design critiques — where students present and defend their work before faculty, peers and invited industry critics — build confidence, communication skills and the resilience that professional design practice demands.

Industry Exposure & Internships

At BGS AADA, we believe that the gap between academic design education and professional design practice should be minimal. Our industry engagement strategy is built around three principles: learn from the industry while you study, immerse yourself in the industry during internship, and enter the industry confidently at graduation.

Regular guest lectures and master classes by working fashion designers, interior designers, architects and design entrepreneurs from Bengaluru and beyond.

Structured site visits to design firms, showrooms, construction sites, factories and exhibitions.

Live client briefs and industry-sponsored studio projects that give students real experience in responding to actual design challenges.

The BGS AADA Final Year Showcase — an annual event where graduating students present their final collections and interior design projects to an audience of industry professionals, potential employers and the public.

Final year industry internship — in fashion design studios, export houses, retail companies, interior design firms, architecture firms or hospitality design practices.
