What is Interior Design?

Interior design is the art and science of enhancing the interior of a building to achieve a healthier, more aesthetically pleasing and functionally superior environment for the people who use that space. It is a discipline that draws from architecture, fine art, colour psychology, materials science, ergonomics, lighting design, furniture design and environmental sustainability.

India’s interior design industry is in the midst of a remarkable boom. The country’s real estate sector — residential, commercial, retail, hospitality and institutional — is growing at a pace that creates an enormous, sustained demand for qualified interior designers. From luxury residential apartments in Bengaluru, Mumbai and Delhi to commercial office fit-outs for tech giants, hotels, restaurants and retail chains, to the hospitality and healthcare interiors boom across tier 2 and tier 3 cities — interior designers with strong academic training and professional skills are sought after everywhere.
